Мультигенное семейство, с. генов — набор структурно и функционально тесно взаимосвязанных генов, происходящих от одного предкового гена путем дупликаций или мутационного процесса (см. Амплификация генов). Могут быть кластеризованы на одной и той же хромосоме (напр., гены, кодирующие рибосомную РНК) или разбросаны по всему геному (гены белков теплового шока). Большинство членов таких мультигенных семейств сохраняют высокую гомологию в кодирующих областях и отличаются друг от друга изменениями в интронных (см. Интрон) и промоторных (см.
